Coronavirus. A time to heal our world.

Dear friends

I think we should be aware of Corona Virus, especially for any group events we do, but we shouldn’t let it distract us from our mission(s) and we must not let fear override our common sense.

Of course we must take precautions, but we mustn’t shut down our lives.

There are energetic ways to protect ourselves as well as opportunities to boost our immune systems.

For example we can use this time to stay away from sugar and starch (sugar) and perhaps take up intermittent fasting and stay away from fast foods.

We have an opportunity to use Corona as a catalyst to change the way we think. And especially to get others to change the way they think.

We have an opportunity to investigate how short our lives are and how much work we still need to do.

Let’s take these opportunities without being fearful and with the knowledge that whatever happens we have taken the right path, thought the right thoughts, eaten the right food, and as best we can, shared our world with each other.

Here’s to our health and the health of our planet.

Love
David

Ancient Teachings

Genesis 1, 28 says that we should "go forth and multiply, and replenish the earth." Not all Bibles have this "replenish the earth" in them, but this is a direct translation from the Hebrew and is in my Bible. We cannot simply take and take. When nature decides that she has had enough, we will be given a lesson. We are also told that the "sins of the fathers will be on the children to the fourth generation" (Deuteronomy 5, 9). Four generations are about 100 years. This sentence means that we should consider 100 years time in all our decision making. The warnings are in our most ancient teachings. It's about time we heeded them.

Designing your own electricity system - part 7 (fridges)

Here are some specifications regarding energy saving fridges. Tafelberg sell some of the Ardo range of fridges. The Ardo rating is: 130KWH rating per year. Even if it really uses 165KWH per year, that will be amazing as an A++ energy star fridge is rated at 380KWH per year and a normal fridge much higher than that. My normal fridge (which I still need to replace) uses approximately 660 kwh per year which at 70 cents per kwh (my rate) is about R40 per month. Note that this is only based on one day's usage. After a few months, I will have a more accurate number. The Ardo fridge uses about 40Watts when it is on and is so quiet that a friend on mind has it in his passage outside two of the bedrooms. At 165kwh per year , the Ardo fridge costs R10 per month. A normal fridge is about R2000 and an Ardo fridge is about R8000. The difference is R6000, so R6000 / R30 (saving) = 200 months = 17 years. Not a very good payback period, but remember what I said in an earlier part of this blog s
